Capacity Building with African Partner Institutions

The Lead Partner University, University of Dar es Salaam, and Partner Institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa will deliver the AVU/RMIT Computer Science Program to students on the ground using contemporary technology and trained Facilitators.

One of the primary aims of the program is to assist Partner Institutions to increase their capacity to provide relevant, internationally recognised qualifications to a greater number of African students to combat poverty and promote African participation in the global market.

Over time, the Lead Partner University will assume responsibility for the provision and accreditation of the Computer Science Program and for development of course content to meet industry need for educated, work-ready professionals.

RMIT will provide facilitator training and 24-hour technical support, among other services, to the Lead Partner University and Partner Institutions during the term of the program. Mentors from RMIT's School of Computer Science will be linked with Facilitators from the University of Dar es Salaam and Partner Institutions to ensure Facilitators are supported, encouraged and assisted.

  • Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Ghana.
  • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.
  • Egerton University, Kenya.
  • Kenyatta University, Kenya.
  • University of Namibia , Namibia.
  • Kigali Institute of Science, Technology and Management (KIST), Rwanda.
  • University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
